We talk to Linda Zhu about working in Knight Frank's Asian Markets
Despite being part of a small team responsible for over a billion dollars a year in transactions, for Linda Zhu success is not about sales. With an impressive career in property spanning well over a decade, Linda measures her success by that of her clients.
In her role as Director in Knight Frank's exclusive Asian Market Division, Linda's day-to-day looks quite different to others in commercial real estate. With a client base largely unfamiliar with Australia's property market and many located offshore, Linda's role extends beyond simply being an agent. To Linda's clients she's also a trusted adviser, a confidant, a translator and in many instances, a friend.
Linda explained, 'A big part of what we do is bring new clients into the market – many of whom have never had any experience with Australia. First time investors can understandably be quite cautious, so when we visit Asia and meet potential clients, the goal is never about making sales. It's simply about getting a feel for what they're looking for.
